China Compulsory Certification (3C)

The catalogue of decorative and refurbishing products subject to China compulsory certification has been issued by State General Administration of Quality Supervision and Inspection & Quarantine of the People's Republic of China (AQSIQ) and Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People's Republic of China (CNCA) on 15 th , January 2004. It is indicated in the catalogue that solvent-based wood lacquer must be qualified to China Compulsory Certification (3C).

The Notice No.6 (2004) by AQSIQ and CNCA has the following content: it is decided to put the China Compulsory Certification into practice on the decorative and refurbishing products (including solvent-based wood lacquer, ceramic tile and antifreeze for concrete) according to the regulation by Products Quality Law of the People's Republic of China , Standardization Law of the People's Republic of China , Law of the People's Republic of China on Import and Export Commodity Inspection , Implementation Rules for Law of the People's Republic of China on Import and Export Commodity Inspection , Implementing Rules of the People's Republic of China on Certification, Implementation Rules for Compulsory Products Certification . From August 1 st , 2005, all the decorative and refurbishing products in the catalogue, if not gain the certification of China Compulsory Certification and not have the “3C”mark, may not be produced, sold, imported or applied in other trades.
