Hempel Haihong Coatings Group Co., Ltd. was founded in Copenhagen, Denmark in 1915. Nowadays, it has had 36 factories, 151 sales offices and 450 products stations all over the world.

Hempel’ headquarter is in Hongkong, and it was set up by Hongkong Commercial Bureau International Group and Denmark Hempel. The factory in Kunshan is its factory in East China, mainly producing container paint, industrial anti-corrosive paint and marine paint. The journalist of Paint & Finishing Consultant interviewed the vice factory director Huang Yuncheng.

Director Huang said, “Under the help of leaders and other relevant factories, Kunshan Factory has got great development since its foundation. The coatings production exceeds 10 thousand tons, and production value is nearly 300 million yuan. We have become a well-known factory of producing container paint and industrial anti-corrosive paint. Due to the 9.11 affair in 2001, the economics of America declined, and the economic anabiosis of Japan or Singapore is too slow, which affect Chinese container market and industrial anti-corrosion market. Especially after entering WTO, container paint and anti-corrosive paint will face the challenge never met before.” Director Huang denoted that under the austere position, Kunshan Factory would strengthen the quality management, adopt new technology to rebuild conventional process and transfer the challenge into chance.
