So far as 2004, Jiangsu Sanmu Group has built for 25 years and this year was a most pivotal year for Sanmu. Recently, the first project of Jiangsu Sanmu Group Industrial Park put into production. Main items of this project include: (1)1×15MW thermoelectricity factory, (2)16 000 t/a epoxy resin equipment, (3)20 000 t/a phenyl anhydride, (4)10 000 t/a pentaerythrite (5)80 000 t/a formaldehyde and 5 000 t/a aldehyde, (6)40 000 t/a plasticizer, (7)12 000 t/a chlorinated paraffin, (8)5 000 t/a benzoic acid.

Q: Please introduce developing history if Sanmu Group.
A: Sanmu Group was founded in 1979. It finished its initial accumulation in 1998 and the sales value in that year exceeded 10 million yuan. In 1988~1992, Sanmu developed whip and spur for the first time and in 1992, its sales value exceeded 200 million yuan. However, in 1992~1996, this mode was doubted and Sanmu was somewhat at a loss. After then, the corporation reformed to private stock company and enter to the second rush. In 2003, the sales value reached 1.5 billion yuan.

Q: Please introduce product structures of Sanmu Group.
A: Sanmu has developed and produced most resins for coatings. We have a lot of kinds of resins, among which alkyd resin, solvent acrylic resin and amino resin have been in leadership all over the country. At present, we produce resins 0.2 million t/a. After the extension of the first project, we’ll have the capacity ability of 0.6 million t/a. Our company has become one of the largest resin manufacturers in China.

Q: Could you introduce developing idea and orientation of Sanmu?
A: During our development, the main idea of our corporation is forming our own value and technology. Although we also have achievement in other fields like fine chemicals, we pay most attention to resins for coatings. Our target is most complete type, largest scale and best quality. As a professional resins manufacturer, we provide coatings industry with professional talents, equipments and technologies, which is our orientation. In theses years, environmental regulations forced corporations to adjust products compositions. Sanmu also tries to develop new technologies to supply the gap in our country.

Q: Do you have any new plans about distribution?
A: As for market exploitation, Sanmu set up more than 100 sales offices all around the country and then built 7 branches in Guangdong, Shenyang and Beijing. Our latest emphasis is settling transportation problem, which includes building a 30 000 t dock in Taixing. At the same time, our corporation plans to open nationwide coatings materials supermarkets, which not only sell various resins, solvents, additives and fillers, but also provide relevant information and technical support.

Q: What about the culture of Sanmu?
A: In last years, our corporation has built natatorium, tennis court and basketball court, which improve employees’ habitation. Meanwhile, our corporation thinks much of talents, whatever native or outlander.

Q: As a main feedstock manufacturer, could you please talk about your opinion about developing trend of coatings industry?
A: In line with worldwide trend, coatings industry in our country cannot but develop environmental protective products. The competition from foreign coatings corporations will force our domestic corporations to develop to more specialty products, so the market need professional resin manufacturers. Quality of Sanmu’s products has been approved by some well-known MNCs.
