At present, China has become the fourth largest manufacturer of ink all around the world. We have more than 400 corporations while none of them could produce or sell 10% of the total turnout. Meanwhile, there are large differences between eastern areas and western areas. Most of primary manufacturers are located in eastern coastline.

    East China: The demand has increased obviously. The demand for offset printing ink and flexible ink is stable, while the demand for plastic printing ink increases largely. The market competition becomes fiercer and the corporations should win the market shares by high quality, low price and excellent service.

    South China: The demand has increased. Because the supply is much larger than demand, the price is decreasing continuously.

    Southwest Area: New mediate and small grade corporations are built one after another. These corporations have ragged qualities and most of them grasp the market shares by low prices, which influences the improvement of printing industry.

    North China: There are three characteristics in ink market: waterborne flexile letterpress ink and UV ink develop fast; offset printing inks are mainly domestic products; solvent inks is exiting market step by step.

    West China: Because of the lagging economics, the demand for ink grades is not high and the market potential is large.

    The experts thought that in the coming 3~5 years, the domestic market demands for more and more special inks such as lithographic offset printing ink, half-tone screen ink and flexible ink. In addition, people pay more attention to environmental protection, so the demand for waterborne ink will become larger.
