On Aug.25, 2003, PRC Business Department proclaimed to prolong the antidumping investigation of some imported MDI.

On June 26, 2002, representing domestic MDI industry, Shandong Yantai Wanhua PU Co.,Ltd. applied to Chinese Antidumping Investigation Department for antidumping investigation. On Sep.20, original Foreign Trading Economical Cooperation Department proclaimed to investigate pure MDI and poly MDI that imported from Japan and Korea. Due to this complicated case, according to the 26th rule of PRC Antidumping Statute, Business Department decided to prolong the investigating time limit for 6 months, ended on Mar.20, 2004.

Besides, applied by relevant people, Business Department held MDI Antidumping Investigation Disadvantage Testing Witness Conference in Beijing on Sep.22, 2003. This conference is an important tache of MDI antidumping investigation, and is the first antidumping investigation witness conference after the establishment of Business Department. About 100 people, relevant people and their attorney office and accused country representatives, attended this conference. In the conference, they stated their own opinions about whether the domestic industry was damaged and the relation between dumping and damage, and also provided relevant materials. Japanese and Korean Embassy representatives demonstrated their standpoint representing their government. Representatives of Yantai Wanhua debated fiercely with Korean BASF, Korean Jinhu Sanjin and Japanese corporations. Since the foreign corporations prepared adequately, Yantai Wanhua said they could not win this investigation confidently after conference.
