National Standardization management Committee demonstrated that cabosil had been listed in National standards constitution plan. At present, the chief standards constituting corporation Guangzhou Jibishi Technology Corporation and China United Rubber Group Corporation Carbon Black Institute have made scheme, and the examination and investment of this standard is going along.

Cabosil is widely used in rubber, coatings, adhesive and ink because of its excellent strengthening action, thickening action and thixotropy, improving products performance. According to primary statistics, the present consumption in our country of cabosil is 4000t/a, and increases quickly. It is forecasted the consumption in 2010 will reach 10000t/a. it doesn’t have national standards or industry standards, so the production and sale of cabosil in our country are disordered and technology level is worse than abroad. Therefore, it is urgent to constitute national standards.

It is heard that the national standards being constituted adopt ISO 262-20:2000(E), including hydrophilic and hydrophobic cabosil. Presently, the asking opinion draft will finish and the official standards will be issued within this year.
